AirSwap is a decentralised, peer-to-peer token trading network built on the Ethereum blockchain. It enables users to conduct anonymous, peer-to-peer trades of ERC-20-based crypto assets without involving third parties.
AirSwap operates by allowing users to trade directly with each other over a decentralised network. Traders can signal their trade intentions by staking a minimum of 250 AirSwap tokens (AST). The platform uses smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain for secure transactions. AirSwap utilises the RFQ (Request for Quote) and LastLook protocols for matching trade requests and executing trades off-chain for efficiency.
AirSwap was founded in 2017 by Michael Oved, Don Mosites, and Sam Tabar. It initially launched following a successful ICO that raised $36 million. Over the years, AirSwap has undergone several updates, including the launch of AirSwap Trader and partnerships with other blockchain projects. The platform has evolved with significant updates to its technology and continues to focus on providing a secure, decentralised trading environment.
