What is LPT?

Livepeer is a decentralised video streaming platform which aims to bring a financially sound, low cost media to decentralised applications (DApps). Livepeer proposes a peer-to-peer model whereby users are incentivised to allocate their bandwidth to hosting video content through nodes on the Livepeer network. Media creators pay a broadcasting fee to the network which is then distributed to users running nodes to facilitate the broadcast. Livepeer uses a delegated proof of stake model built on Ethereum. Fees and incentives are paid to node operators in Ethereum and Livepeer’s native token LPT.
