Constellation (DAG) is the native utility token of the Constellation Network, a decentralised Layer 0 protocol built on Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) architecture. Designed to overcome the limitations of traditional blockchains, Constellation enables near-infinite scalability, feeless transactions, and high-throughput data processing. Its infrastructure is ideal for enterprise, government, and big data applications, offering a secure and sustainable foundation for decentralised data validation and automation.
Constellation uses a Hypergraph architecture, allowing transactions to be validated in parallel rather than in sequential blocks. At the core of the network are metagraphs—customisable, independent state channels that allow users to define specific business logic and governance models. The network operates on Proof of Reputable Observation (PRO), a consensus mechanism that rewards honest node behaviour and eliminates the need for energy-intensive mining. DAG tokens are used for node operation, data processing fees (snapshot fees), and powering decentralised applications built on the network.
Constellation supports a wide range of data-intensive and enterprise-grade use cases. These include big data validation and integration, creation of Layer 0 applications via custom metagraphs, and secure data handling for Internet of Things (IoT) environments such as smart cities and industrial systems. The protocol is also suited for government and defence sectors requiring tamper-proof infrastructure, and supports scalable, low-cost DeFi solutions through cross-chain payments and micropayments. Constellation’s flexible architecture positions it as a foundational platform for decentralised data economies.
