### What is Push Protocol?

Push Protocol is a web3 native communication network that facilitates cross-chain notifications, messaging, and other communication services specifically for applications, wallets, and services in the decentralised web. It is designed to offer a communication layer for web3 applications that is both decentralised and open.

### How does Push Protocol work?

Push Protocol operates by utilising a network of nodes (Push Nodes) that validate and dispatch notifications between wallet addresses. It integrates with both on-chain and off-chain systems, using smart contracts to trigger notifications based on specific events. The platform supports multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain, leveraging blockchain technology for secure and decentralised communication. The protocol adopts a Proof of Stake network model and employs verification proofs and encryption to secure data transmissions.

### What are the potential use cases for Push Protocol?

Push Protocol can be applied across various sectors, including:

1. **DeFi and dApps**: Facilitating communication between decentralised finance platforms and users.
2. **Gaming**: Sending in-game notifications to enhance user engagement.
3. **DAOs**: Enabling communication for members regarding proposals and voting.
4. **NFTs**: Notifying users about NFT listings and sales.
5. **Healthcare**: Sending confidential notifications about patient data and appointments.

### What is the history of Push Protocol?

Push Protocol was originally launched as the Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS) in 2020 during the EthGlobal Hackathon. Founded by Harsh Rajat and Richa Joshi, it rebranded to Push Protocol to encompass a broader vision beyond just notifications. It has since expanded its integrations across multiple blockchain networks and grown a vibrant community. The protocol has received significant backing through grants and partnerships with notable projects and venture capital funds, solidifying its position in the web3 communication landscape.
