### What is Quai Network (QUAI)?
Quai Network (QUAI) is a decentralised Proof-of-Work blockchain protocol designed to deliver high scalability without compromising security or decentralisation. Built around a multi-chain architecture, Quai achieves parallel processing across multiple sub-chains, allowing it to reach transaction speeds that rival traditional payment systems while maintaining the robustness of a permissionless network.

### How does Quai Network work?
Quai introduces a unique, multi-layered chain structure composed of **Prime**, **Region**, and **Zone** chains that operate concurrently to achieve massive throughput. This hierarchical architecture allows independent block production while maintaining global consensus, supporting over **50,000 transactions per second** across the network.

The protocol uses a novel **Proof-of-Entropy-Minima (PoEM)** consensus mechanism, which selects the block with the lowest entropy rather than relying solely on computational power. This enhances energy efficiency, prevents chain splits, and strengthens network security.

Key architectural features include:
