What is Uniswap?
Uniswap (UNI) is arguably one of Ethereum’s most popular decentralised exchanges. Created in 2018, Uniswap is an automated liquidity provider that is designed to allow users to exchange various Ethereum based tokens quickly and cheaply. UNI is the Ethereum token that powers the Uniswap platform, and was launched in 2020. Used as a governance token, holders of UNI can influence the vote on Uniswap development decisions and protocol changes. Holders can also fund grants, partnerships, liquidity mining pools and other proposals. In the future, users are expected to be able to earn UNI by staking tokens in liquidity pools.
