What is RVN?

RVN is the cryptocurrency of Ravencoin, a protocol based on a fork of the Bitcoin code. It focuses on the ‘efficient creation and transfer of assets from one party to another’. Ravencoin aims to achieve this by allowing tokens to be issued on the Ravencoin blockchain, with each token having its unique characteristics such as quantity, securitisation or issued as collectibles. RVNs are internal currencies within the network and must be burnt in order to issue token assets on the Ravenchain. The assets can represent anything from real world assets such as gold or silver, to virtual goods, or even an hour of someone’s wage. RVN has a total supply of 21 billion coins, and prides itself on its transparency: there were no pre-mined coins, no ICOs and no coins were held for developer or founder rewards.
