What is YFI?

As one of the largest Ethereum-based tokens, YFI is the native currency of the yearn.finance protocol. This protocol offers users a suite of products that provides lending aggregation, yield generation, and insurance services – all that enable users to optimise their earnings on crypto assets. As a governance token, holding YFI allows users to vote on which direction they want the protocol to head. Users can also earn YFI tokens by locking cryptocurrencies in yearn.finance contracts. The more assets users lock in the platform, the more tokens they are awarded by the protocol.
