What is GALA?

GALA Games is a blockchain gaming studio which operates on the Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain networks. GALA is focused on empowering gamers by utilising blockchain technology to allow for a player owned asset system and player run economy. Eric Schiermeyer, co-founder of social and mobile game developer Zynga, is leading the GALA Games team which has experience working with AAA game studios such as Electronic Arts and Epic Games. GALA Games has released its first game, Town Star, with many other titles on the way such as Mirandus, Echoes of Empire and Spider Tanks to come. GALA token (GALA) acts as an in-game currency token and can be traded for virtual goods such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) within their games. Furthermore, GALA tokens can be used to create GALA nodes which powers the GALA Games network and is the mechanism that allows for a fully player supported ecosystem. GALA utilises a hybrid consensus mechanism which comprises proof of work (PoW), proof of stake (PoS) and proof of storage mechanisms.
