What is LSK?

LSK is the governance token that powers the Lisk network. Lisk is a blockchain application aiming to make decentralised technology more accessible to benefit more individuals. Lisk’s complete goal is to allow developers to rapidly transfer skills for the purpose of building decentralised applications (dApps), by permitting developers to build applications using both Javascript and Typescript coding languages. Lisk currently lets developers create tailored dApps and cryptocurrencies via the network's “sidechains” which are known as unique blockchains operating within the Lisk network. LSK can be used to pay costs for the operations of dApps on the Lisk network, and also for voting on proposed changes to the Lisk protocol.
